As the specialty arm of Tan Lee Et Food Industry, PYROAST is built on generations of roasting expertise. Our founder’s journey began in the heart of the family factory, blending decades of local coffee tradition with the precision of modern roasting technology. We don’t just source coffee; it's an evolution of a lifelong obsession with coffee. 

Raised amidst the intoxicating aroma of traditional roasting, Hao Xiang’s journey into coffee was inevitable. Growing up in the heart of Tan Lee Et, he spent countless hours observing the meticulous process, from the selection of raw beans to the final roasting. The stories of his father, the founder of Tan Lee Et, served as the blueprint for a lifelong mission to preserve Singapore's local coffee heritage while elevating it to a global specialty standard.

A desire to preserve legacy is nothing without the technical mastery to back it up.

At just 18, Hao Xiang began formalising his intuitive knowledge, eventually becoming a certified R-Grader. This deep expertise in Robusta quality allowed him to refine the family’s core offerings and support the legacy business with scientific rigor. This achievement allowed him to alleviate the workload of his father and contribute meaningfully to the family business. 

Driven by a keen eye for detail and an insatiable curiosity,  Hao Xiang revolutionised the coffee manufacturing process line. He earned his Q-grader certification, a testament to his expertise, and implemented new scientific technologies to enhance the roasting process. This dual expertise in both Robusta and Arabica specialty coffee enabled us to revolutionise our manufacturing line, integrating innovative roasting technologies with artisanal heritage.

We strongly believe coffee is an evolving experience. By experimenting with an array of single-origin varieties and traditional blends, we have unlocked a spectrum of flavour profiles designed for the discerning modern palate. Today, PYROAST stands at the intersection of tradition and innovation. By collaborating with world-class roasters and baristas, we continue to push the boundaries of what a good cup of coffee can be.
